Continuing Veterinary Education

Visiting Veterinarians Scheme

The Office of Continuing Veterinary Education is available to coordinate postgraduate clinical training for qualified veterinarians who wish to visit Murdoch University to receive supervision and instruction from academic staff, registrars and residents. “Visiting Vets” from all over Australia and overseas have the opportunity to attend rounds, lectures, practical classes, consultations, clinical work ups and surgeries where appropriate, and within the limitations of their Western Australian registration.

The training can be tailor made to the requirement of the students, and is fee paying. The student is required to submit a brief, explaining the type of training they require, and including a non-refundable application fee of AUD $27.50. The office will then liaise with the appropriate staff and determine the final fee for the training. As a guide, medium level training will cost between AUD $550 to AUD $880 per week (overseas students are GST free). The student is required to arrange their own public liability and accident insurance for that period.
