A Murdoch University Biomedical Science Degree offers a number of career paths that depend on the selection of subjects.

Graduates can expect rewarding opportunities in the following areas:

  • Research and development in the biotechnology industries
  • Research in health statistics and health information technology
  • Research and development in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Development of public health policy
  • Public or private sector health insurance industry

Students who have successfully completed the appropriate units in Murdoch University’s Biomedical Science Degree may be accepted in the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Western Australia where they can complete two semesters in order to gain a degree (or an Honours degree) in Animal Science. This path leads to a career in the livestock industries in Australian Agriculture.

In addition, some Australian universities (currently Flinders, Queensland, Melbourne and Sydney) have introduced Graduate Medical Schools to which the Biomedical Science degree can provide a strong background for entry, via the standard National GAMSAT examination and interview.
