    Molecular Epidemiology

    Welcome

Our group focuses on the molecular epidemiology of infectious agents, particularly the use of genotyping tools for improving detection methods and for studying transmission dynamics.  We are also interested in novel therapeutics for pathogens. We are very much in a growth phase and are always keen to talk to students interested in Honours, ISC projects, summer scholarships or PhD studies. Our research is located in the world-class State Agricultural Biotechnology Centre (SABC) at Murdoch University.

The team leader, Associate Professor Una Ryan has been researching infectious agents particularly Cryptosporidium for over 20 years. She works closely with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta and regularly visits their laboratories.
