I did my primary degree in Dublin, Ireland, before moving to Australia in 1989. I have been researching infectious agents for over 20 years and Cryptosporidium in particular is my passion. I work closely with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta and regularly visit their laboratories. I was awarded the Prime Minister's Prize in 2000 for my work on Cryptosporidium.
