Research Summary:

David is a veterinary microbiologist who teaches veterinary and medical bacteriology. 
His research interests include the detection, molecular epidemiology and control of pathogenic bacteria, with particular emphasis on enteric infections in pigs, poultry and human beings. 

 

Current projects include the use of "reverse vaccinology" for development of recombinant vaccines for control of enteric infections, studies on interactions between diet and enteric infections, and the application of molecular techniques to study the distribution of pathogenic bacteria in animals and humans.
