Susana Averis Research Officer - Parasitology

Susana Averis studied Biotechnology at Murdoch University and completed her PhD in 2006 entitled “Isolation and characterisation of two chitinase and one novel glucanase genes for engineering plant defence against fungal pathogens”.
Since then her diverse interests have seen her involved in several studies relating to genetic markers in legumes and cereals. She is currently a Research Officer on a project investigating parasites implicated in the decline of threatened Australian native animals.
